Carlotta, who is a famous opera singer, gets threatened by a mysterious phantom athte Paris Opera House. She is forced to give up the role that she is playing (Marguerite in Faust) because of the phantom. Her replacement Christine then comes face to face with the phantom and discovers he is a masked man and finds that he lives in the catacombs. Released in 1925, it was directed by Rupert Julian and starred Lon Chaney. It also featured Mary Philbin, Norman Kerry, Arthur Edmund Carewe, Gibson Gowland, John St. Polis, and Snitz Edwards.
